Sharpton and Wal-Mart joining forces?

Al Sharpton Scott Lee, CEO of Wal_Mart

Al SharptonMichelle Malkin has a post from late yesterday about Al Sharpton and Wal-Mart CEO Scott Lee appearing at the National Council of La Raza ‘s annual conference to push for another Shamnesty bill.

The Rev. Al Sharpton and Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott became unlikely allies Tuesday in their call to revive immigration legislation, in speeches before the nation’s largest Hispanic civil rights organization. “Congress needs to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill now,” said Scott, who heads the world’s largest retailer.

Scott attributed his views in part to his Mexican-American granddaughter, who has helped him to understand immigration as more than “simply a cerebral exercise.”

Mr. Lee would be better served worrying about what his own company is doing in the area of illegal immigration already, before trying to get involved in what the federal government is doing?  Or, maybe that is why he is getting involved?

As for Al Sharpton and his “moral authority”, I agree with Michelle.  You have to have had it, before you can lose it, Al.
